It’s Okay to Take a Break

It’s been about a month since my last blog post. I’ve become the student teacher in a special needs kindergarten class, and it has consumed pretty much all of my life. I leave the house at 6:45 a.m., and I don’t get home until about 5 p.m. (It’s a +1 school, so student dismissal isn’t until 3:30). Once I’m home, I have to work on my college assignments and lesson planning – so I really don’t get any free time until about 8 p.m. I absolutely love my job, and I am so excited to teach every single morning! However, this requires a lot of energy, and for a while my excitement towards blogging faded.  Continue reading “It’s Okay to Take a Break”

November Goals Recap

November Goals Recap

Whew! What a month! Between my final projects coming to a close at school, to my wisdom teeth complications (I’m getting them all taken out next week), it’s been a whirlwind of a month. A lot of things caught me off guard, but I still managed to meet my goals that I set up a few weeks ago. Let’s take a look at how things went. 🙂

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them [Movie Review]

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them [Movie Review]

When I was about 6 or 7 years old, J.K. Rowling released two Hogwarts textbooks: Quidditch through the Ages, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I was already a devout Harry Potter fan, having read The Sorcerer’s Stone and The Chamber of Secrets at a young age. My favorite of the two textbooks was definitely Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I remember poring over those textbooks countless times, wishing that the mythical creatures were real and chuckling to myself over Harry’s and Ron’s notes in the page margins. Today’s Library Picks

Today’s Library Picks

My boyfriend and I just can’t get enough of the library. We go twice a week when we’re in the area, and pick up 4-5 books each. I’ve reviewed a couple books before, but I’ve never really done a “What I’m Reading Now” post. So, I wanted to just walk you through the books I chose on this outing, and explain why I chose them. If you’ve read any of these, please let me know in the comments! Continue reading “Today’s Library Picks”

Sephora Collection: Lip Products Review

Sephora Collection: Lip Products Review

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know I’m always keeping an eye out for makeup products to try. And, if you’re new to my blog and don’t know me too well; welcome! Good to have you. 🙂 Okay, so this weekend I went to Sephora to pick up a lip product or two. My trusty Colourpop lippies are finally starting to run out, and I was in dire need of something to replace them with. Once in Sephora, I was heading towards the Smashbox liquid lipsticks – but decided last minute to just stick with products from the Sephora collection. You know, to save money and all that.  Continue reading “Sephora Collection: Lip Products Review”

Thriftbooks: The Solution for a Broke Bookworm

Thriftbooks: The Solution for a Broke Bookworm

Okay guys, I’m feeling the itch to buy a new book… But, after booking a plane ticket to Iceland, my wallet can’t really take a day at Barnes and Noble. I always go in expecting to buy one or two books, and I come home with 10! So, I’m going to turn to my old friend, Thriftbooks. Continue reading “Thriftbooks: The Solution for a Broke Bookworm”
