The Box That Makes Your Period Bearable [PMS Package Review]

Periods suck. There’s really no contesting that. Yes, it’s Mother Nature’s way of telling you that you’re fertile, and also not pregnant – both of which is useful information. But wouldn’t it be great if that information could come without the baggage of blood, cramps, and bloating? Well, I can’t make that crap go away, but I can show you how to make it more bearable! Drumroll please… The PMS Package! This is a subscription service that ships out a period care package for that oh-so-special time of the month. They kindly sent me a box to review; keep reading to see my thoughts and photos.

Something you may not know about me is that my hormones are crazy. I used to get my period every 28 days on the dot.. And then it changed to once every 70 days. Now, I get my period every other week. That’s not an exaggeration; I have had my period 3 times in the last 6 weeks. It’s a major pain in the ass, but I can’t go on regulatory pills for medical reasons. So, a PMS Package to bring comfort during these periods sounds like a godsend.

The PMS Package currently has two options:

  • Standard: At least 7 craving, comfort, and feminine care products ($29.99/month)
  • Premium: 8-11 products; value is $20 higher than standard box ($34.99/month)

You can use code PMS5 for $5 off your first box!

I received the premium version of the October box, which actually contained 12 products.

The box itself is a cute pastel pink, and nothing about it draws attention to the fact that it may have period-related items inside (if you get embarrassed about that sort of thing).

1

The tagline on the side is “Comfort delivered to your door”. Again, this is vague enough that your postal carrier probably does not know what is inside.

2

I was excited to see all sorts of sweet treats when I first opened the box! I was actually on my period while receiving this, and I always crave chocolate.

3

There was a wide assortment of goodies inside, and I was surprised to see how much fit inside the box.

4I was very excited to see that there was a candle in the box. I have a slight candle addiction, and I go through a couple candles a week. This particular candle is from Simple Living, and it’s scent is Cinnamon Spiced Cookies. It smells so good! It is such a perfect scent for the holiday season; nice and warm and festive. I’ve already burned halfway through it!

I also received a super cute notebook, and a jewel pen. I collect cute notebooks, so I was really pumped about this!

5

I decided to grace the first page of the notebook with a picture of a happy uterus. 😛 I really liked this notebook and pen combination. I have seen pens like this on Etsy, and I had almost bought this exact one before. Yes, it’s bright and gaudy, but it’s so much fun!

6

Next is a very practical item: feminine wipes. I never seem to have these on hand when I really need them, so this was a great inclusion. They have a nice, neutral scent which I like. Often, feminine wipes have an obvious, sickly sweet scent that I don’t really want to smell like.

7

The package is small enough to fit in most purses, so it’s great for on-the-go.

8

Now, on to the Opaline Body Butter. This is strawberry-scented, and quite creamy. It makes my skin feel so moisturized. I’m not the biggest fan of the scent; in fact, I find it smells quite plasticky. I hate wasting product, so I will continue to use this up. I have been applying it on my breast stretch marks, which always seem to turn purple around the time of my period.

9

10

Okay, on to probably the most useful item in the box: a U by Kotex Travel Pack. This contains 4 regular tampons, as well as 2 panty liners. My periods are quite heavy, and I typically use super or super plus tampons. However, this is great for the last couple days of my period.

11

I love the cute, tribal packaging as well as how noiseless these are when you open them.

12

Oh, sweet sweet Midol, how I love thee. I received 5 packets of Midol, with two pills in each pack. I am stashing these in my purse right away. I’m that friend that’s always asking others if they have Midol, so now I will finally be able to stop being a leech. Lol!

13

Next, there was a MenstruHeat pad for cramp relief. I had never used one of these before, but they are quite interesting. When it is exposed to air, it will heat up in 5-10 minutes. You then place it on your lower abdomen, either over your shirt or on bare skin- depending on how intense you want the heat to be. The heat relaxes your uterine muscles, which then relieves the cramping. Neat!

14

From here on out, it’s all sweets – my favorite!

The sweets I liked the best were the Sanders Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramels. I have always loved this combination of flavors. The caramel inside was ooey gooey, and absolutely delicious.

15

16

Next, is the Cheryl’s Crunchy Chocolate Chip Cookies. These remind me quite a bit of Famous Amos cookies, which gives me nostalgic feelings of summer camp and way too much junk food. They are buttery, crunchy, and delicious!

17

18

Am I the only person who hasn’t heard of chocolate rocks before? I was so confused when I saw these in the box. I winced a little when I went to chew one one, expecting it to be hard and possibly crack a filling. However, they are quite easy to chew through and taste like M&Ms.

19

20

The final thing in the box was Mandy’s Confections Rich Chocolate Cookie Thins. I am a chocolate fiend, so of course I loved these!

Wow! There was so many things in that box. It definitely brought me some joy on my period, and I especially enjoyed eating all of those treats. The value of the products are not worth that much more than the price of the box – so it isn’t a huge money savings. However, the curation is wonderful, and it is such a great concept! I would recommend this box to anybody who would like a bit of pampering on their period.

  1. Omg this is awesome. I’ve never heard of this company before but wow!! First of, the packaging is SO cute. I love how much detail they put into the box and it’s items. The notebook and pen are so cute (something I would totally buy) and I love that they use Kotex and Midol because those are my period go-to’s. Also, so. much. chocolate. Love this!
