February Favorites (2017)

Hello friends! I haven’t done a favorites post in a while, but I really wanted to show you some of the things I’ve been loving in February! I may end up making favorites posts a regular thing. Anyways, let’s dive right in.

This Wild Sage & Aloe candle from Bath & Body Works smells amazing. I was checking out their spring collection and lamenting over how many floral scents there were (I can’t stand the scent of most flowers), but this jumped out at me. The notes are: aloe water, agave nectar, desert sage, and black oak. I have been lighting this every day for the past couple weeks, and I’ve burned through about half of it. It is such a cool-feeling scent, kind of like how menthol “tastes” cold. It makes me feel so bright and cheery, like a spring scent should, without the headache-inducing floral notes. Plus, the packaging is too cute!

The next item is the Lancome Complete Coverage Concealer in the shade Correcteur. It is a little thinner in consistency than my Urban Decay Naked concealer, but I think I actually prefer that. It is also nice and bright, and covers my under-eye shadows perfectly. It was a bit pricey at $31, but a little goes a long way. This has made its way into my daily routine, and I would definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a brightening concealer.

Another product I have been using daily is the Tarte Color Vibes Amazonian Clay eyeshadow pallette. These shadows are so buttery and pigmented, and I have been making all sorts of looks with them. What I really love about this pallette is that I can make looks that are appropriate for work, but I can also create a really fantastic smoky eye for a night out. Love it! If you want a post with swatches, let me know. 🙂

After discovering Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab a couple years ago, I have never been able to go back to perfume spray. Oils is where it’s at! I have hundreds of these little sample vials (they are about the size of your pinkie finger, but last for about ten applications), and several large bottles (which can last you for years of everyday wear). I have had this scent for a while, but I realized that I never actually wore it! The notes are: red apples, banana, chili pepper, coconut, pineapple, pomegranate and sugar cane. Upon application, it smelled strongly of banana runts – I didn’t think it was going to work out on my skin. But, after about 10 minutes it morphed into this absolutely gorgeous, tropical scent. I will have to save some for later, because it would be an amazing summer scent.

I would love for you to check out Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. I’m not sponsored by them (although that would be a dream come true); they are just an amazing company that I tell everybody about. Their scents are mostly based off of literature and folklore, and they are so unique! Each one tells their own story. And, the oils play differently with individuals’ skin chemistry, so its scent is special for each person.

I bought this game a couple weeks ago from a board game shop – which is one of my favorite stores in the world – and have played it several times with my boyfriend. It is sort of a deck-building game; you are racing against your partner to create the best city. It reminds me a lot of Valeria, except without the fighting and fantasy elements. Valeria always takes at least an hour for me to play, whereas this only takes 30 minutes; it’s great for when you don’t have enough time to commit to a long board game.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this little post about my favorites! I would love to hear about what is on your favorites list this month. If you’ve written a favorites post of your own, feel free to link it below. 🙂
