Whew! What a month! Between my final projects coming to a close at school, to my wisdom teeth complications (I’m getting them all taken out next week), it’s been a whirlwind of a month. A lot of things caught me off guard, but I still managed to meet my goals that I set up a few weeks ago. Let’s take a look at how things went. 🙂
Visit a Planetarium
Check! I spent a day at a museum of arts and sciences, and finished off the trip with a planetarium show. I ended up purchasing an annual pass to the museum, which will give me access to unlimited shows. This time around, I saw the Exotic Moons show… But I think next on my list is their Pink Floyd laser light show.
Use Elliptical Every Day
I am so thankful that my parents have given me their old elliptical. I wake up every morning with terrible muscle soreness, but a quick workout on the elliptical makes me feel better immediately! It used to take several hours for my body to warm up, but a quick workout on the elliptical when I first wake up makes the rest of the day so much more enjoyable.
This month, I wanted to read five books off of my bookcase, instead of purchasing new books. I’ll be honest with you, I did purchase some books this month.. but I read some of my own as well! The books I read this month were:
- The Truth-Teller’s Tale
- Alphabet of Thorn
- Pardon My French: How a Grumpy American Fell In Love with France
- Arts & Entertainments
- A Woman Alone: Travel Tales from Around the Globe
- I Like You Just Fine When You’re Not Around
- Dancing In Dreamtime
- Masque of the Red Death
Try a Challenging Recipe
So, I wanted to make a challenging dish for Thanksgiving dinner at my parents’ house this month… But it was my first time cooking for Thanksgiving, and I didn’t realize how bad of an idea it was to go grocery shopping on Thanksgiving morning. They were out of the main ingredients for my dish, so I ended up just doing a glazed carrots dish. Boring. 😦 However, I did make several fun recipes throughout November!
Foundation Blog Post
I wanted to write a blog post on foundation that is good for oily skin. I ordered a couple foundations, but only one has shown up so far – the e.l.f. Acne Fighting Foundation. I tested it out for four days, and wrote a review on it. Check it out here!
In November, I spent a total of 18 hours tutoring two to three 2nd graders at an after school program. At the beginning, they seemed to view educational activities grudgingly, and would ask if we could just go play on the playground instead. Now, I have gotten to know them well enough that I can create activities that I know they will love! We’ve made slime, and used it in a spelling game. We use AirPano, which is a travel exploration app, and write about what we discover. We’ve learned about the scientific method through a coke and mentos experiment. I love these children, and I am going to be so sad when our tutoring time comes to an end.
Overall, I think this November has been pretty great (apart from the wisdom tooth thing!). How has your month been?
